Goddess Study to Bloomsbury Academic
Bloomsbury Academic senior editor Richard Brown has taken world rights to sociologist James W. Coleman’s Searching for Tara: The Goddess Who Became Buddha. Coleman argues that the search for Tara leads to new understandings of the evolution of human spirituality and offers meditation techniques for readers to try Tara practices, according to the publisher. Coleman was represented by publishing consultant Arnie Kotler. The book will release in November 2026.
Racial Healing as Spiritual Formation to IVP
Nilwona Nowlin, associate editor at IVP, has negotiated world rights with the unagented education consultant Afrika Afeni Mills for her tentatively titled Sowing the Seeds of Shalom: Racial Healing as Spiritual Formation, scheduled for summer 2027 release. Her book, rooted in contemplative Christian practices, provides tools for healing wounds, breaking down hostility, and embodying peace, according to the publisher. Mill's 2023 TED Talk, Four Ways to Have Healthy Conversations about Race, has received more than a million views.
WaterBrook Signs Three Books with Ike Okafor
Waterbrook editor Estee Zandee has taken world rights via Jan Miller at Dupree Miller & Associates in a three-book deal with pastor and podcaster Stephanie Ike Okafor. The first book is The Power of Your Dreams Guided Journal, releasing in summer 2026, and the second is Soulution, releasing in spring 2027. It will guide readers through understanding, healing, nourishing, and aligning the soul with God’s purpose, according to the publisher. The third book is TBA.
Ministry Founder to WaterBrook for Two Books
Jevon Bolden at Embolden Media Group has negotiated world rights with Kimberly Von Fange at WaterBrook for two books by Albaner Eugene Jr., therapist, speaker, and founder of Let’s Move, a ministry to help people progress in their lives. The first book, Momentum, is a 100-day devotional offering practical steps to reclaim energy, renew faith, and create forward motion, according to the publisher. It will release in fall 2026. The Wilderness, set for spring 2028, is a roadmap for growth, identity formation, and spiritual maturity based on Jesus’s time spent in the wilderness.
