Little, Brown Buys New Nonfiction from James Patterson and Vicky Ward

Samantha Smith at Little, Brown acquired North American rights, in an exclusive submission, to an untitled nonfiction book about the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting by James Patterson and Vicky Ward from Robert Barnett at Williams & Connolly.

This new book will focus on the shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson, and his alleged assailant, Luigi Mangione. Early discussions are in progress with “major interest for both scripted and unscripted adaptations of the book,” according to the publisher.

The title follows the author duo’s recent bestseller, The Idaho Four, which explored the 2022 murders of four college students attending the University of Idaho.
