Blue Marble Books Up for Immediate Sale

Blue Marble Books in Fort Thomas, Ky., a suburb of Cincinnati, is up for immediate sale. One of the country’s oldest children’s bookstores, Blue Marble was founded in 1979 by Tina Moore and is currently owned by her husband Peter Moore, who took over ownership of the store after her death in 2016. Moore initially put the store, the building, and the gardens outside it on the market in March so that he can retire.

The store is renowned for its partnerships with schools throughout the region and for its Great Green Room. The life-sized replica of the bedroom in Margaret Wise Brown’s Goodnight, Moon is a popular tourist attraction in the area.

“My wife, Tina, believed every child could find themselves in a book,” Moore said, “We’re looking for someone who will carry that vision forward.”
