Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to Expand U.K. Reach

The city council of Wakefield, England has backed plans to expand the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which has sent nearly 70,000 books to Wakefield children under five and their families since 2017, to eight more areas in the city.

The decision, reported by the Bookseller, comes after Wakefield libraries recently reported their largest-ever “graduating” class of young members turning five.

Now in its 30th year, Parton’s Imagination Library is the world’s largest book-gifting program, distributing around three million free books each month to children from birth to age five across five countries.
