DeYoung Named Next President, CEO of Augsburg Fortress
Augsburg Fortress Publishers announced Tuesday that Andrew DeYoung has been named president and CEO, effective September 1, 2026. He will succeed Tim Blevins, who is retiring as of August 31, 2026 after 20 years with the Minneapolis publishing house for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American, the last seven as publisher. DeYoung will immediately oversee publishing, marketing, and sales operations across the company’s trade, higher education, and congregational markets.
According to a release, Augsburg Fortress’s board of trustees, in consultation with ELCA's presiding bishop, unanimously elected DeYoung as publisher. DeYoung has been with Augsburg Fortress for more than 17 years. Since May 2024, he has served as publisher of the book publishing division, which includes Fortress Press, Broadleaf Books, and Beaming Books. Previously, he was publishing director for four years.
