C-SPAN Launches ‘America’s Book Club’
C-SPAN has announced the launch of America’s Book Club, a weekly primetime television series hosted by author, civic leader, and interviewer David M. Rubenstein.
According to a release, the series will bring viewers into public libraries and cultural landmarks across the country, including the Library of Congress, the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Enoch Pratt Library, and the National Archives. The series will also feature conversations with authors, policymakers, business innovators, and cultural figures, such as John Grisham and Stacy Schiff.
“Books provide the foundation of American ideals, progress, and vision,” Rubenstein said. “Since I was a youngster growing up in Baltimore, books have fueled my imagination and knowledge. I look forward to sharing these ideas with others.”
America’s Book Club is part of C-SPAN’s larger America 250 programming, which explores the nation’s history as it celebrates its 250th anniversary. In addition to television, the series will be accessible from the C-SPAN archive, C-SPAN Radio, the C-SPAN Now app, and as a podcast series.
