Jennette McCurdy Novel to Publish in January
After purchasing Jennette McCurdy’s highly anticipated debut novel for seven figures in 2022, Ballantine Books Group, a subsidiary of Random House, has announced that Half His Age will be published in hardcover, eBook, and audiobook formats on Jan. 20, 2026. Ballantine’s Jesse Shuman edited.
Half His Age follows a “seventeen-year-old girl named Waldo as she navigates an affair with her teacher, exploring the complexities of desire, power, and self-discovery,” according to the publisher, and showcases McCurdy’s signature “mordantly funny and keenly poignant” tone.
McCurdy’s previous book, the 2022 memoir I'm Glad My Mom Died, has sold over three million copies and remained on the New York Times Bestseller list for 90 weeks after its release, per the publisher.
