The U.S. Commerce Department is putting together a book display for this year's Frankfurt Book Fair that will highlight minority- and women-owned publishers as well as books by minority and women authors. According to the Commerce Department, books by minorities and women are a rapidly growing niche in the European book market. Cost for displaying books is $100 per title and the application deadline is August 24. The fee includes the display of the book plus the distribution of sales literature, a listing in the department's title directory and the collection of leads from firms interested in buying, distributing or licensing a title. For more information, call the Commerce Department's Nate Herman at (202) 482-4034.
