Daniel Silva's fifth national bestseller, The Confessor, lands in the #4 spot this week; that is the highest position the author has thus far achieved on the PW charts. The author's books, including this fast-paced, historical thriller, enjoy rave reviews (this magazine puts him "at the forefront of his generation of foreign intrigue specialists"). His latest focuses on the Vatican's silence during the Holocaust and its continued refusal to open its archives. He appeared on The Today Show on publication day and did a 20-interview radio satellite tour during the first week of publication. Putnam has 120,000 copies in print.
