Peter Jovanovich, chief executive of Pearson Education, has taken a medical leave of absence "for a few months," Pearson said in a statement released last week. According to Pearson chief executive Marjorie Scardino, Jovanovich "has been wrestling with a recurring pulmonary disorder for some time," and his doctors believe rest is necessary to aid in his recovery. Jovanovich "intends to return as soon as possible," Scardino said. Until Jovanovich is back at work, Pearson Education divisional heads will report to Scardino.
