Stuart Applebaum to Retire from Penguin Random House
In his 52-year career, Applebaum has served as publicity assistant, book publicist, Bantam publicity and public relations director, company spokesperson, chief communications officer, VP, SVP, and EVP. He will retire at the end of September.

Tim O'Connell Takes the Reins at Saga Press
O’Connell comes to Saga from the flagship Simon & Schuster imprint, for which he will continue to acquire literary fiction and select nonfiction. Joe Monti, who founded Saga in 2015, has been promoted to VP, associate publisher, and editorial director.

On October 7, Baroni will move from Harmony Books and Rodale Books at Penguin Random House to lead Harvest and Harper Wave, both now housed under the Morrow Group, as SVP and publisher.

PublicAffairs Publisher Clive Priddle to Step Down
Priddle will depart PublicAffairs, as well as its Bold Type Books imprint, which he also oversees, next month. He joined PublicAffairs in 2003 and has served as its publisher since 2012.

Leigh Marchant Joins HBG as Chief Marketing Officer
Marchant, who was previously director of marketing, strategy, and engagement at the Random House Group, will join Hachette Book Group on September 23. She succeeds Wibke Grutjen, who departed HBG this month to join Simon & Schuster.

Gabrielle Gambrell to Succeed Sophie Cottrell as Head of HBG Comms
Cottrell, the longtime SVP of communications at Hachette Book Group, will depart the company at the end of August and be succeeded by Gambrell, who previously headed up communications at Amazon.
