  • Tim Holman Promoted to Orbit President and Publisher

    Holman launched Orbit, Hachette Book Group's SFF division, in 2007, publishing such authors as N.K. Jemison and Andrzej Sapkowski. In his new role, he will continue to report to HBG CEO David Shelley, who said the division is currently having its "most successful period ever" following "two successive record-breaking years."

  • PRH's Annette Danek-Akey to Head B&N Supply Chain

    Danek-Akey will leave her position as chief supply chain officer at Penguin Random House at the end of August to help with Barnes & Noble's expansion of its retail footprint. With her departure, Jeff Abraham has been promoted to COO of PRH US.

  • Gabrielle Brooks, Jenny Jackson Up at Knopf

    Brooks has been named associate publisher and Jackson has been elevated to editorial director of fiction, among other personnel changes following the May "restructure" of the Knopf Doubleday Publishing Group that saw the exit of Knopf publisher Reagan Arthur and Pantheon Schocken publisher Lisa Lucas.

  • Regina Brooks Named AALA President

    The founder and CEO of Serendipity Literary Agency has been elected to lead the Association of American Literary Agents, succeeding Jennifer Weltz of JVNLA.

  • Reagan Arthur Returns to Hachette

    On September 23, the former Knopf and Little, Brown publisher will return to Hachette Book Group as SVP and publisher, leading an as-yet-unnamed boutique imprint and editing major authors across HBG’s publishing divisions.

  • Abrams Marketing Reorg Puts More Emphasis on Data

    Abrams VP of marketing Kim Lauber oversaw the restructuring of the publisher's marketing group, which now includes two units designed to make Abrams marketing more agile, proactive, and data driven.

    Christian Jünger has been named CEO of Penguin Random House’s German publishing group, Penguin Random House Verlagsgruppe. Jünger has been managing director of the Holtzbrinck Publishing Group’s Rowohlt Verlag division since 2021, and will join PRH on October 1.

    Stephanie Jackson has been tapped to lead the Life segment, including the recently announced imprint DK Red, at DK Living, the publisher’s adult division, effective November 1.

    Cohen, the indie comics stalwart whose name has become synonymous with Fantagraphics over the past 15 years, will head up PR and marketing at Tapas Entertainment. Stone, who recently wrapped up his tenure as an editor of the 'Comics Journal,' succeeds Cohen at Fantagraphics.

  • Green, Santella Up in PRH Children's Sales Reorg

    Becky Green has been promoted to SVP for retail and Penguin Young Readers sales, and Mark Santella has been promoted to SVP for mass merchandise and Random House Children’s sales.

  • Lindsay Sagnette Named Editor-in-Chief of Putnam

    Sagnette was most recently VP and editorial director at Atria, where she edited such authors as Jamie Ford and Jennifer Weiner. She will join Putnam as VP and editor-in-chief on July 15, rounding out its executive team following Sally Kim's departure.

    Hachette Book Group has let go a number of staffers at Little, Brown, including VP and deputy publisher Craig Young and VP and executive editor Tracy Sherrod, one of the few prominently positioned Black women in trade publishing.

    As part of a makeover at the HarperCollins sales department, VP of independent sales and wholesale Kathy Faber will take on additional responsibilities in the indie channel, and Wendy Ceballos will become director of independent sales and retail marketing.
